Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A middle school is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide inclusive special education services to 8th-grade students. This contract position runs through the current school year, ending in May 2026, and offers a structured schedule with direct impact on a caseload of 24 students.
Location: La Porte, IN
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:35 AM 4:10 PM
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Caseload: 24 students, with approximately one-third already conferenced for IEPs
Setting: Inclusive Special Education Services, middle school (8th grade)
Qualifications:
- Indiana Special Education Teacher certification (required)
- Experience working with middle school-aged students is preferred
- Ability to manage and deliver services in an inclusive classroom setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support inclusive learning
- Monitor and report student progress regularly
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
- Provide a supportive and structured learning environment for students with diverse learning needs
