Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel OR RN with strong ortho and general surgical scrub experience, Epic proficiency, and flexibility for call and weekend requirements for a 16-week assignment in Vermont.
Details
- Surgical services unit within a hospital setting
- Scrub role strongly preferred; strong circulators will be considered
- Strong experience in orthopedic and GYN service lines required; general surgery experience also needed; some eye service line experience accepted
- 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Sunday
- No block schedules permitted
- Minimum every other weekend requirement, with schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
- Two call shifts required per week
- On-call required every 3–5 weekends as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license — VT or Compact license accepted; candidates without VT licensure will be considered but must apply for licensure promptly upon commitment; NY candidates will be reviewed with proof of pending NY license
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Strong proficiency in ortho and general surgical service lines required; GYN experience also needed
- Scrub experience strongly preferred; strong circulators may be considered
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required — non-negotiable
- At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required, with one from the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays
- This position follows an immediate offer process — no formal interview
- Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local; candidates residing 51–100 miles away are eligible for the travel pay rate (distance measured in a straight line, not driving distance)
- All employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained in work history
- Complete work history is required, including bed count, EMR used, and facility type for each position listed
