Overview
An ophthalmology client in the Chicago metro area is seeking a driven, self-managed liaison to build and maintain referral relationships with optometrists. This is a field-based role focused on increasing inbound patient referrals through direct outreach and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a defined territory and develop referral relationships with relevant medical offices
- Conduct in-person visits and presentations to physicians, optometrists and staff
- Track referral activity and coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless patient handoff
- Identify opportunities to improve conversion and strengthen long-term relationships
- Monitor competitive activity and share market feedback with leadership
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in field sales, referral development, or provider relations (ophthalmic or medical preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently, set goals, and manage a territory
- Familiarity with optometry or outpatient healthcare settings is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
