This contract opportunity is based at a high-achieving secondary institution near Easley, SC, and offers a supportive environment known for academic excellence. You'll take on a temporary, full-year assignment while a current staff member is on leave, working alongside motivated students and collaborating with dedicated colleagues.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics required
  • Valid SC Educator Teaching Certification in Secondary Physics or Science with AP endorsement (no pending certifications accepted)
  • Successful completion of the Praxis II test #5266
  • Strongly preferred: Professional Certification Endorsement (30-hour training); consideration given if all other qualifications are met
  • Previous classroom teaching experience, particularly with Advanced Placement Physics, is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, rigorous classroom atmosphere

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Instruct AP and General Education Physics courses for a diverse student body
  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans that align with curriculum goals
  • Assess student understanding through assignments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback to promote academic growth
  • Participate in school community events and collaborate with science and teaching staff to ensure consistency and quality of instruction
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and additional documentation as required by the district
