Job Description

Manufacturing Plant Engineer

Middlesex County/MetroWest region of MA

100% on-site | $90,000–$110,000 + up to 15% Profit Sharing

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Plant Engineer to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in advanced engineered materials used across a wide range of industrial applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on the plant floor, enjoys solving real-world equipment and process challenges, and wants to play a key role in driving operational improvements.

This is not a desk-bound or lab-focused position. You will be directly involved in plant operations, working closely with maintenance, leading projects, and helping improve equipment performance and efficiency across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support plant-based engineering projects from planning through execution
  • Partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade equipment
  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion
  • Provide technical input on new equipment design, installation, and qualification
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and production output
  • Support waste management and facility improvement initiatives
  • Assist with scaling and improving manufacturing processes

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Facilities, or Maintenance Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience working with plant equipment and operations
  • Experience with project planning and execution
  • Engineering degree required
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to PLCs
  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement
  • Experience working with contractors and external vendors

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000–$110,000
  • Profit sharing bonus: typically 10–15%
  • Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)
  • 401(k)
  • PTO and 12 holidays

Why Join This Team

This is a unique opportunity to step into a highly visible, hands-on role where your work directly impacts plant performance. You’ll have real ownership over projects, the ability to make meaningful improvements, and the autonomy to operate without heavy micromanagement. The team is small, collaborative, and built around people who take pride in getting things done. If you’re looking for a role where you can truly make an impact and grow into greater responsibility over time, this is it.
