Job Summary:

The primary role of the Assembly Specialist is to install girders and columns to provide a structural framework while fabricating and assembling iron and steel materials according to the blueprint drawings.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions

• Utilize specialized skills in bolting, welding, and assembling structural steel projects
• Aptitude for reading and understanding drawings
• Aptitude using hand and power tools

Additional Duties:

• Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operations.

Quality Standards

• Must be able to read and understand drawings, codes, and specifications. Will ensure all fabrication instructions and procedures are followed to assemble successfully

• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

• Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols

Teamwork

Teamwork is essential in this position and the Assembly Specialist must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff.

Actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with the safety department.

Qualifications

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma

• 1-3 years of experience in steel fabrication (required)

Language Skills

Must be able to communicate professionally and show respect both orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers.
