Electro mechanic – Packaging Manufacturing

Location: Edinburgh, Indiana (Onsite)

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00/hour (based on experience) + shift premium (rotating 12-hour shifts)


Job Description:

  • I’m working with a leading packaging manufacturer to hire an Electro mechanic for their Edinburgh, Indiana facility.
  • This is a hands on, high impact maintenance role focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant equipment reliability. The position blends electrical, mechanical, and controls work, supporting production uptime in a safety first, continuous improvement-driven manufacturing environment.


Must Haves:

  • 2+ years of experience working with electromechanical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs (Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred)
  • Hands-on knowledge of AC/DC motors, high-voltage equipment, drives, and servo systems
  • Technical training typically gained through an Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience in electromechanical maintenance


The Position:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems across plant equipment including gas mixers, burners, DI water systems, air compressors, HVAC systems, ultrasonic cleaners, waxers, and plant lighting
  • Diagnose faults across PLCs, sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and automated systems
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Program and modify PLC logic (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred) to support equipment performance improvements
  • Maintain and repair AC/DC motors, drives, relays, contactors, and associated components
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities
  • Support installation, commissioning, and upgrade of new equipment
  • Maintain plant utility systems including compressed air, heating/cooling, and process equipment
  • Use electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools to identify root causes of failures
  • Document all maintenance activity accurately within CMMS systems
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and NEC guidelines
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and support continuous improvement initiatives


Shift Pattern:

  • 1st Shift training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (~3 months)
  • Ongoing: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights)
  • Must be flexible for both day and night shift coverage
  • Overtime available depending on production demand
