Salary Range: $48,000 - $71,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
  • Utilize various precision measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators) to perform dimensional and visual inspections.
  • Document inspection results accurately in the Quality Management System or designated records.
  • Identify, segregate, and label non-conforming materials, initiating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production departments to resolve material discrepancies and quality issues.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) for new or revised parts and components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure proper calibration status of inspection tools.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
  • Solid understanding of quality control principles, sampling plans (e.g., ANSI Z1.4), and non-conformance reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection results and maintain records.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with quality management software or ERP systems.
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field or relevant certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated inspection equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
  • Advanced understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with specific quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) or other quality analysis tools.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or similar professional certification.
