Job Description: Electrician

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance activities for manufacturing, laboratory, and utility systems in a cGMP biologics manufacturing environment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems, panels, MCCs, VFDs, motors, lighting, and grounding systems.
• Support electrical maintenance associated with HVAC systems, critical utilities, and process equipment.
• Perform electrical work in compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and site safety requirements.
• Respond to electrical failures, alarms, and abnormal conditions and support root cause identification.
Startup, Commissioning & Qualification Support
• Support electrical system startup activities including equipment energization and functional checks.
• Participate in commissioning activities such as loop checks, power verification, alarm testing, and functional testing.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and electrical aspects of commissioning and qualification readiness.
• Assist with punch list identification, tracking, and resolution during startup phases.
Procedure & Documentation Support (Start-Up Phase)
• Assist in development, review, and revision of electrical maintenance SOPs, work instructions, and job plans.
• Provide technical input for preventive maintenance strategies and spare parts for electrical systems.
• Document all electrical maintenance activities in the CMMS in compliance with ALCOA+ principles.
GMP Compliance & Safety
• Execute work in compliance with cGMP, safety, environmental, and company requirements.
• Follow approved SOPs, electrical safety procedures, LOTO requirements, and PPE standards.
• Support deviation investigations, CAPAs, and change control related to electrical systems.
• Maintain electrical systems in a qualified state to support validated operations.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Coordinate activities with Maintenance, Engineering, Facilities, Production, and QA teams.
• Support startup readiness activities including walkdowns and inspection preparation.
• Identify opportunities for reliability, safety, and energy efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong attention to detail with effective documentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance.
Education & Experience
• PR Electrician license required.
• Minimum three (3) years of hands-on industrial electrical experience; pharmaceutical, biologics, or medical device experience preferred.
• Experience working in cGMP-regulated environments required.
• Familiarity with instrumentation, controls, and automation systems is a plus.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in laboratories, cleanrooms, electrical rooms, mechanical rooms, and manufacturing areas while wearing required PPE.
