Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Waconia, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and organizing patient records in compliance with medical, ethical, and legal standards. Responsibilities:
• Organize and manage patient medical records using electronic health record systems to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
• Review medical documentation to verify completeness and adherence to established standards and regulations.
• Retrieve patient records promptly for healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and technicians.
• Ensure strict confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Respond to information requests from patients and authorized personnel while maintaining data protection protocols.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, typing, organizing correspondence, and scheduling appointments.
• Train and assist other staff members in effectively managing medical records.
• Generate reports and statistical summaries related to patient records as required.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards in all aspects of record management.• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts.
• Familiarity with medical software including Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).
• Strong knowledge of medical billing functions and claim administration processes.
• Experience in auditing medical records for accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to create and interpret charts, graphs, and statistical summaries.
• Skilled in answering inbound calls and maintaining clear and effective communication.
• Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to managing documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to safeguard sensitive information and uphold confidentiality standards.
