The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at our organization in Albany, NY is on the lookout for a board-certified pathologist in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) to engage in clinical services focused on:
- Gynecological Pathology
- Genitourinary Pathology
This position is set within an academic environment. While fellowship training in the relevant field is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates with a secondary area of interest in Anatomic Pathology are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Sign out GYN and/or GU pathology cases
- Participate in shared AP call and provide non-forensic autopsy coverage (averaging fewer than 4 autopsies per pathologist per year)
Teaching Activities
- Conduct one-on-one and group sign-out sessions with residents, medical students, and visiting observers
- Deliver didactic lectures and lead unknown slide conferences
- Supervise residents' presentations, including journal clubs, gross conferences, and grand rounds
Opportunities for involvement in translational research and medical student education can be customized based on individual interests and departmental needs.
Compensation
The salary range is competitive and based on experience and academic rank, ranging from $224,000 to $336,500. This stated range reflects the base salary only; total compensation will also include an initial sign-on bonus and a substantial quarterly incentive component.
