Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Machinery OperatorJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Machinery Operator responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production machinery to maximize output of quality parts. The role involves inspecting parts to ensure they meet quality standards, documenting quality measurements, and making necessary adjustments to machinery and tooling. The operator will replace or repair machine parts as required, manage raw material placement, and handle lubricants and coolants. Additionally, the operator is responsible for moving completed parts to shipping areas and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production machinery to maximize output of quality parts.
  • Inspect parts on a continual basis to maintain quality standards per part requirements.
  • Document quality measurements per operator inspection data sheets.
  • Make adjustments to machinery and tooling to ensure part quality.
  • Replace and/or repair production machine parts as required.
  • Retrieve and move raw material into place as required.
  • Add and/or change lubricants and coolants as required.
  • Move completed parts into containers, and full containers to shipping area as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading.
  • Experience in machine operating and press machines.
  • Assembly skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered shop drawings.
  • Effective communication with other employees.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and optical comparators.
  • Forklift operation skills.
  • Physical ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to stand for 8 hours and perform tasks involving bending and reaching.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies.
  • Ability to collaborate with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, and service providers.
  • Skills in tracking, tracing, and updating the status of shipments.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and organized work area.
  • Ability to unload trucks, sort, and stock receivables promptly.
  • Maintaining accurate logs of daily moves, inventory scanning, and counting.
  • Engaging with vendors and drivers positively.
  • Providing backup support for shipping and receiving departments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of East Providence, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
