Job Title: Lab Accessioner

Job Description

The main function of an Accessioner I is to process laboratory samples. This role involves working with other laboratory employees to catalog patient specimens, such as blood, urine, or tissue, primarily focusing on blood samples. Lab professionals rely on these samples to carry out diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and triage all specimens for clinical testing.
  • Manage clinical information within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database.
  • Perform internal audits of clinical charts.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure testing accuracy.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in laboratory accessioning.
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in data entry / great typing speed.
  • Attention to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Lab assistant experience or phlebotomy with sample preparation experience is beneficial.
  • Ideal for science students seeking overnight work related to their field.

Work Environment

The role is based in a diagnostic lab. The position requires availability for the 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, from 8 pm to 4:30, 9pm to 530am M-F and one opening from 930am to 5pm Tu-Sat with mandatory overtime as needed on the weekends. Must be able to pass a color blind test and be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Must be comfortable handling blood, urine, stool and other patient lab samples.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PHOENIX, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
