What You'll Own:
Payroll Administration:
- Process and manage the company's bi-weekly payroll cycles and weekly per diem payments with speed and precision.
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of salaries, wages, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive payroll reports for management review.
- Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and urgency.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local wage, hour, and payroll laws.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of payroll accounts; prepare and record journal entries.
- Manage state and federal payroll tax processing, garnishments, and other regulatory requirements.
Accounting Support:
- Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll and benefits.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Create Jobs within QuickBooks, Paylocity and Ramp.
- Manage State registration and tax payments.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general accounting functions as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting and payroll processes, suggesting new tools and practices where appropriate.
Requirements:
Experience You'll Need:
- Experience with QuickBooks is required.
- 2-3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with multi- state payroll, tax and labor law compliance.
- Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage.
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with comfort using formulas and pivot tables.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage confidential information.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
