Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is needed to provide specialized respiratory care in a fast-paced hospital environment. This contract opportunity involves working day shiftsspecifically three 12-hour shifts per weekat a prominent healthcare location in Washington Navy Yard, DC. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of this area to ensure timely and reliable attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory care treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations including obtaining and analyzing physiological specimens.
- Interpret cardiopulmonary data, perform tests and studies related to the cardiopulmonary system.
- Manage respiratory therapy technology and treatment protocols across care settings.
- Provide respiratory rehabilitation and education to patients.
- Oversee mechanical ventilatory support, artificial airway care, and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
- Utilize pharmacological agents relevant to respiratory care procedures.
- Support hemodynamic cardiovascular functions as needed.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience.
- Proven expertise in pediatric, NICU, adult emergency room (ER), and critical care respiratory therapycandidates without this specific experience will not be considered.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
