A-Line Staffing is hiring a Full-Time, On-Site, Instrument Test Technician in Sparks Glencoe, MD! (THIS ROLE IS DAY SHIFT FOR $25/HR. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE IN MECHANICAL TOOLS, READING DIAGRAPHMS, AND MECHANICAL/TECHNICAL APTITUDE!)

The Instrument Test Technician I performs production assembly operations along with complete system analysis, testing, and performance optimization of medical instruments. This role involves basic electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues in non-functioning test equipment. The technician evaluates pass/fail criteria, recommends solutions, and escalates testing-related concerns as needed. This position serves as a subject matter expert in instrument functional performance within the production environment.

Instrument Test Technician Compensation

· The pay for this position is $25.00/hr

· Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

· A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Instrument Test Technician Highlights

· This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs

  • Required Availability: is Monday-Friday Day Shift

Instrument Test Technician Responsibilities

· Build, integrate, and understand the full assembly process and requirements for instruments within the production area

· Perform functional and release testing on at least one moderately complex instrument

· Analyze test data and results to determine pass/fail outcomes and recommend corrective actions

· Optimize system performance, including precision of movement and/or light systems, based on test results

· Identify defects and recommend design or process improvements

· Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards

· Train and support associates on mechanical and testing activities as needed

· Process and disposition Quality Notifications (QNs)

· Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements and Safety and Quality standards

· Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams as needed

· Perform standard material handling for raw materials and sub-assemblies

· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with housekeeping standards

· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety and housekeeping policies

· Work overtime as required to meet business needs

· Perform other duties as assigned

Instrument Test Technician Requirements:

Minimum Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3.5 years of manufacturing experience, OR
  • Associate’s Degree (AA) in a technical field with relevant skills

Basic Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to support testing of moderately complex instruments
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach associates
  • Strong accountability for results and continuous performance improvement
  • Demonstrated commitment to Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience with mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, bits, etc.)
  • Proficient in reading drawings and measuring dimensions and requirements
  • Strong time management skills across multiple production orders
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Understanding of and adherence to Quality procedures
  • Flexibility to manage frequent assignment changes


Technical & Professional Skills

  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and basic math)
  • Basic computer skills, including use of PCs and Windows-based applications
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
