Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a travel contract in Los Angeles, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level IV NICU experience and an active CA RN license.
Details
- Level IV NICU in a large academic medical center setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient population includes pre- and post-surgical (general and cardiac) neonates requiring advanced care such as mechanical ventilation, bubble CPAP, CVCs, arterial lines, drips, and stoma/trach care
- Floating to PICU/Pediatrics required based on census
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of Level IV NICU experience required
- Proficiency with vents, bubble CPAP, various CVCs and arterial lines, drips, stoma/trach care, and pre/post-surgical neonatal care
- Ability to perform comprehensive nursing physical assessments
- At least one prior travel nursing assignment required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized plans of care, monitoring patient progress, and reassessing goal parameters as needed
- Expected to delegate tasks in a manner that promotes teamwork and leadership
- Provides education to patients, families, and staff on clinical and patient care topics
- Navy scrubs required
