Job Summary

Join our dynamic and patient-focused orthodontic practice as an Orthodontic Assistant! Were seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented professional to support our orthodontist in delivering exceptional patient care. As a key member of our team, youll help create beautiful smiles while ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including fitting braces, adjusting wires, and placing bands.

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in compliance with infection control protocols.

  • Take X-rays & intraoral scans

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, appliance maintenance, and post-treatment care.

  • Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and appointment schedules.

  • Manage inventory to ensure availability of orthodontic supplies and materials.

  • Provide a supportive and calming experience for patients, particularly children or those with dental anxiety.

  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and coordinating follow-ups.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.

  • Valid Orthodontic Assistant certification or Dental Assistant certification (e.g., DANB Certified Orthodontic Assistant) preferred.

  • X-ray certification required (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or Dental Assistant with orthodontic exposure.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and team members.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with orthodontic instruments, procedures, and software.

  • Current CPR certification preferred.
