Job Title: Automation Controls Technician
Job Description
The Automation Controls Technician supports a fast-paced, climate-controlled distribution center by maintaining and optimizing complex automation and electrical systems. This role focuses on ensuring reliable operation of material handling equipment, PLC-controlled systems, and facility infrastructure while driving preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and service labeling equipment, thermometers, cold formers, and vision inspection systems to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
- Support upgrades and improvements to material handling equipment (MHE) and APS control systems to enhance throughput and reliability.
- Oversee work on 400-amp cabinets, transfer switches, and Pick system robots, ensuring safe and compliant electrical practices.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, and automated warehouse equipment.
- Support PLC-controlled systems used in automated distribution or warehouse environments, including troubleshooting and optimization.
- Work with power generation equipment and Delta control systems to maintain consistent and stable operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Military background that brings discipline, structured problem-solving, and a strong focus on procedures and safety.
- Experience with maintenance management or maintenance supervision in an industrial or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with vision inspection systems, labeling equipment, thermometers, and cold formers.
- Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Work Environment
This role operates in a pharmaceutical distribution center environment that is climate controlled for comfort and product integrity. The primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as needed, or an alternative night shift of 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. for those who prefer overnight work. The environment centers around automated material handling systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and modern diagnostic tools, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and adherence to regulated procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $79040.00/yr.
