Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Job Description
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects with a primary focus on underground piping systems and wastewater treatment facilities. This role oversees all phases of construction—from preconstruction planning through project closeout—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings hands-on field experience, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of civil and water/wastewater construction practices.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute construction projects focused on underground piping systems and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Oversee all phases of construction from preconstruction planning through project closeout.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Manage civil, utility, or water/wastewater construction projects from start to finish.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Essential Skills
- 3–4 years of construction project management experience with a strong emphasis on Pump Stations and wastewater treatment plant projects for Assistant Project Manager.
- 5+ years of construction project management experience with a strong emphasis on Large Diameter Underground Pipe and Pump Stations for Project Manager.
- 10-15 years of construction project management experience with a strong emphasis on underground Pipe/Utility, Pump Stations, and wastewater treatment plant projects for Sr Project Manager.
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm), treatment plant structures, and mechanical/process systems.
- Proficiency with construction scheduling, budgeting, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or similar).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working on municipal or industrial wastewater treatment facilities.
- OSHA 30, PMP, or similar certifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
The position is based in Knoxville, with periodic trips to project sites. The option to work remotely from the Richmond, VA area is also available. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
