Compensation:

$21 - $33 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists during any procedures or examinations by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
  • Assure all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
  • Answer any questions the patient may have about dental hygiene, schedule appointments for patient care follow up, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums, after procedures
  • Greet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during the appointment
  • Get treatment rooms ready for examination and procedures by equipping them with necessary sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and organize sterilized instruments, supplies, and materials for dental procedures
  • Chairside assist dentists and hygienists during examinations and treatments
  • Perform pediatric prophylaxis (Pedo Prophies)
  • Float assist across rooms as needed
  • Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and postoperative care
  • Record vital signs, update medical histories, and maintain accurate patient records
  • Sterilize and disinfect equipment and maintain infection control standards
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and provide clear treatment explanations to patients


Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are preferred
  • Proficiency with computers, and experience updating patient histories, and with dental software is necessary
  • Must possess a current state license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
  • Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required
  • 3 years of dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant

What We’re Looking For

  • Current Licensed Dental Assistant (LDA) certification in Minnesota (or eligible soon)
  • Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program (CODA)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Experience using dental software and digital radiography
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
