Job DescriptionVIP Staffing is Immediately hiring a Benefits Specialist for a leading organization in Albuquerque, NM This is a Full Time Temp To hire Position Schedule is Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Fridays 8am-3pmPay for this position is $45,000 - $50,000 DOE
As a Benefits Specialist you will:
- Provide administrative and logistical support in all areas of the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs and workers' compensation benefits.
- Regularly prepare and distribute a variety of high-quality benefit-related communication pieces
- Directly interacts with employees in person, via phone, or e-mail. answering benefit questions and addressing specific benefit-related circumstances.
- Drive the annual open enrollment periods and manages employee life events that create mid-term changes.
- Provide support in General liability and Auto insurance claims by reporting and managing claims and providing insurance carriers with changes in company assets.
- Stay abreast of all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Send out monthly 401K eligibility communication.
- Process employee separations/discharges and communications benefits, or vacation to Payroll.
- Reviews and processes performance reviews
- Review and designation of FMLA and informal employee leave.
- Review and approval/denial of religious accommodations based on applicable laws.
- Review ADA and medical restrictions while working closely with the leadership of all departments in determining reasonable accommodations for employees with medical conditions.
- Reconciliation of monthly benefits.
- Compile recon reports, monthly eligibly benefits, and store incident reports
- Assist in all other areas of the HR Department
Benefits Specialist candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Associates Degree in HR and 1-2 years of HR Benefits experience are required.
- Ability to multitask and work under stressful conditions in a quick-service restaurant environment, dealing with customers and other employees. Tolerate a reasonable amount of stress
- Must be adept to problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve them promptly.
- Strong interpersonal skills and can exhibit empathy towards employees and customers.
- Able to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbally.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Bilingual in Spanish & English is strongly preferred
- Maintain a current insurable driver's license
