We are seeking a Restaurant Sous Chef to join our team! You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicate time to expanding our clientele base to establish the restaurant's brand and reputation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Oversee kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, consistency, and presentation meet restaurant standards.
  • Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies while minimizing food waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, ensuring all food safety regulations are met.
  • Develop and introduce new dishes in collaboration with the Head Chef.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance efficiency and skill development.
  • Assist in managing kitchen schedules and ensuring smooth workflow during service hours.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar kitchen leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high food quality.
  • Experience with Ethiopian cuisine is a plus but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a team.
  • Culinary school training is preferred but not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
