Duties:

• Provides clinical and basic administrative support while working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated patient care delivery model.

• Performs venipuncture, phlebotomy, and capillary blood glucose readings using approved methodology for sample collection to include the importance of proper patient identification. Properly identifies all patients with two identifiers to assure the accuracy of the specimen collected and documentation of the collection is appropriate.

• Performs direct patient support work which includes but is not limited to providing personal patient care, collecting medical history, obtaining vital sign readings, obtaining 12 lead EKG readings, completing preventative health screenings via clinical reminders, performing clinical cardiac medical treatments/procedures, and documenting care provided, reporting findings of concern to the physician or other appropriate staff.

• Identifies and reports data relative to more complex, non-routine patient situations including subtle changes in patients' behaviors or conditions/variances related to neurological signs, vital signs, or other parameter.

• Completes inventory to maintain basic work clinical supplies.

• Prepares the clinical area for individual procedures.

• Prepares patients for health care appointments/interactions by tele-video, face-to-face, and other nonface-to face interactions.

• Interprets requests or instructions for medical or health care personnel.

• Provides counsel on health-related subjects as provided by physician and/or health care team members, including but not limited to recommended plan of care, post-procedure care, etc.

• Independently explains procedures and positions patient for a variety of clinical procedures.

• Responds to emergency situations such as cardiopulmonary failure, hemorrhaging, and shock by assisting in the performance of resuscitation measures.

• Collects data from patient's records and prepares and presents summary information to physician and/or medical team as indicated.

• Operates and maintains medical instruments and equipment for diagnostic and treatment procedures.

• Collects data from patient's records and prepares summaries and reports in response to a variety of requests.

• Reviews and screens requests for information.

• Identifies inconsistencies or discrepancies among documentation and discusses with appropriate staff members.

• Determines nature of inquiry and independently responds to all administrative questions.

• Obtains release forms.

• Ensures encounter forms are completed.

• Verifies and updates demographics and insurance information.

• Other duties as assigned in support of facilitated patient care.

This is a part-time weekend position.

Requirements:

• Subject to background/security investigation.

• Successful completion of preemployment reference checks.

• Upon employment, required to complete online boarding (electronic training) and on site-training

• Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification with periodic refresher review as stipulated by the organization.

• Influenza & Coronavirus vaccination.
