Gensco has an amazing opportunity available to join our Commercial Sales Team at our Corporate Offices in Tacoma, WA as a Commercial Sales Follow-Up Specialist!

Schedule - Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Full Time - Pay Range $25-$30 per hour based on experience

Summary
The Commercial Sales Follow-Up Specialist will perform a broad range of coordination activities to support the Commercial Sales Team, including proactively pursuing closing quote opportunities by interacting directly with Customers. This position also works closely with the Sales and Quoting Teams to ensure that every quote receives timely follow-up and that Customers receive support to move forward confidently.


Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Customer Service
    1. Provide excellent customer service by treating all Customers fairly and honestly.
    2. Deliver the following customer service standards with a welcoming manner:
        • Phones are answered politely within 3 rings
        • Emails are responded to promptly
        • Customers come first, not paperwork or discussions with other Team Members
        • Customers are thanked for their quote requests and business
    3. Support the Commercial Sales Team with coordination and administrative activities.
    4. Respond to quote questions from Customers in less than 24 hours.
  2. Commercial Quote Follow-up and Conversion
    1. Assist in driving sales and customer satisfaction by following up on outstanding quotes, communicating with Customers, and helping convert opportunities into booked projects.
    2. Review all outstanding and expired commercial quotes and work with the Customer to explore quote needs, changes, and questions.
    3. Assist with Customer requests to reactivate expired quotes or convert a quote to an order:
    • Verify pricing has not changed and reactivate the quote
    • Or start the ordering process to have the quote moved to order status
    1. Maintain an organized follow-up schedule at specific intervals after the quote was sent to ensure timely outreach and maximize quote conversion rates.
    2. Follow-up with new, infrequent, small, and medium-sized Customers to earn new business
    3. Communicate Quote Status changes to Commercial Quoter and Outside Sales Representative through email, and phone.
    4. Document all communication and quote status in the Company database.
    5. Track win/loss ratio to include any reasons Gensco did not win the bid.
    6. Publish the data and share the results with our Team and vendors.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2-year degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly credible, high degree of honesty, ethics, and integrity
  • Customer service-oriented approach, respond to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage details with 100% accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency for deadlines
  • Able to monitor own work to ensure quality
  • Able to effectively communicate with internal and external Customers
  • Able to handle difficult and demanding Customers in a calm and professional manner
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Willing to “think outside of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and other PC applications
  • Able to work sitting or standing and move about the facility freely
