Weld Technician | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $67,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations on various materials according to blueprints and specifications.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders.
• Inspect and test welds for quality, integrity, and adherence to standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment and fixtures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding tools and machinery.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve welding issues and improve processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited welding program or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with welding inspection techniques and quality control.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and regulations.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with robotic welding systems
• - Certified welding inspector (CWI) or similar certification
• - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• - Proficiency in welding procedure specification (WPS) development and qualification
