Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education Teacher position in Storrs Mansfield, CT offers an excellent opportunity to support middle and high school students with diverse learning needs. The role requires an enthusiastic educator holding a valid 165 Comprehensive Special Education Certification to provide tailored instruction and interventions for students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for middle and high school students
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students abilities and curriculum standards
- Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive classroom environments
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families and support staff
Qualifications:
- Valid 165 Comprehensive Special Education Certification
- Experience teaching special education at the middle and/or high school level
- Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and behavior management
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
