2 years of current experience required. Performs the essential duties, responsibilities, and the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of assigned patients. MUST be able to float to other Maternal Areas including Pediatrics. When we float a nurse to Mother-baby, they are given healthy newborns. If RN asked to float to Pediatrics, it will be for the duration of that shift. RN not be allowed back onto the NICU floor. Responsible for the care and treatment of newborn infants suffering from illness or prematurity, as well as caring for their parents and guardians. Provide round-the-clock care for the basic and medical needs of newborn infants in the NICU. Assist the NICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments.
