Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will perform a combination of administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient operation of the medical office and quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:

Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, height, weight)

Assist physicians with exams and minor procedures
-
Prepare patients for examination and explain treatment procedures
-
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (e.g., urine, blood)
-
Perform basic laboratory tests
-
Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician
-
Perform EKGs, X-Rays, wound care, and other clinical tasks as needed
-
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and properly sterilized
Administrative Duties:

Schedule appointments, answer phones, and respond to patient inquiries

Update and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system

Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus
-
CPR/BLS certification required
-
1+ year of experience in a clinical setting preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology, EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena), and clinical procedures

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:

May require long periods of standing or walking

May be exposed to bodily fluids and infectious diseases

Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs
