Job Type: Contract | Travel Assignment
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Flex Shift – 5x8-Hour Rotating Shifts
Hours: 32–40 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: $30 – $34 per Hour
Schedule Details
Rotating shifts may include:
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- Occasional weekends and holidays as required
- 32–40 hours per week
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory / Donor Care Specialist for a travel assignment in Hyannis, MA. This role involves supporting donor services, performing phlebotomy procedures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards while delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform donor screening to determine eligibility in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Conduct whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures.
- Participate in both on-site and off-site blood collection drives.
- Prepare, label, and handle blood components and specimens for testing.
- Maintain accurate donor records, documentation, and data entry, including deferrals.
- Support donor recruitment and community outreach initiatives.
- Monitor inventory and replenish donor care supplies as needed.
- Obtain blood specimens from donors and patients following proper protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide professional, compassionate customer service to patients, donors, and staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior phlebotomy experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- National certification or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
- Experience in donor services or blood bank collections.
- Experience performing therapeutic phlebotomy.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as CDC, FDA, AABB, and CAP.
- Experience working at offsite blood drives.
