Job DescriptionPosition Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room (Orthopedic Focus)

Location: York, Maine
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • Day Shift
  • 4 x 9-hour shifts
  • Shift Hours: Between 06:45 AM – 04:15 PM
  • On-Call Required (Must be able to return within 45 minutes)
  • Holiday coverage required

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support a high-performing Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will bring strong orthopedic surgical experience and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining strict sterile technique and patient safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environments
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
  • Set up and break down the operating room before and after surgeries
  • Anticipate surgical team needs to ensure smooth workflow
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control protocols
  • Handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies appropriately
  • Assist in orthopedic procedures, including use of specialized instruments and implants
  • Monitor and manage inventory of surgical supplies
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff
  • Respond to on-call duties and emergency surgical cases as required

Required Qualifications

  • Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification
  • Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience
  • Orthopedic surgical experience (Required)

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation
  • Expertise in sterile techniques and infection control practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operating room environment
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
