What You’ll Do

As an Admissions Counselor, you’ll serve as a key ambassador for the University—connecting with prospective students, families, and partners while managing your own recruitment territory.

Student Recruitment & Relationship Building

  • Identify and engage prospective students within your assigned geographic territory
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, families, high school counselors, and community partners
  • Represent the University at high schools, college fairs, and recruitment events (regional and national travel required)

Enrollment Strategy & Pipeline Management

  • Manage your recruitment funnel from inquiry to enrollment
  • Use a strategic, personalized approach to move students through each stage of the admissions process
  • Collaborate with Athletics and campus partners to support recruitment initiatives

Student Guidance & Communication

  • Provide timely, accurate, and supportive information on admissions, financial aid, academic programs, and student life
  • Deliver engaging campus visits and group presentations that reflect the authentic UP experience
  • Serve as a trusted resource for students navigating the college decision process

Events & Collaboration

  • Plan and execute admissions events as part of the broader recruitment strategy
  • Work closely with Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar, Athletics, faculty, and student services teams
  • Partner with campus stakeholders to stay informed and represent programs effectively

What You Bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Associate’s degree with relevant experience will be considered

Experience & Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships and connect with diverse audiences
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and a recruitment pipeline
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends

Preferred

  • Experience with private, Catholic, or liberal arts education
  • Familiarity with student recruitment, admissions, or higher education environments
