The OTR CDL A Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of various cargo types, including dry van freight, refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, and hazardous materials. This role involves long-haul and interstate routes, often covering distances over 500 miles. Operating primarily as a solo driver, the candidate must efficiently plan routes and conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform long-haul driving on interstate routes, typically exceeding 500 miles
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance
- Plan and optimize routes to meet delivery schedules and fuel efficiency goals
- Transport various cargo types, including dry van freight, refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, and hazardous materials
- Maintain accurate logbooks and records in compliance with safety regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of truck driving experience
- Commercial driving expertise with a CDL A license
- Strong route navigation skills
- Proficient in vehicle inspection and maintenance checks
- Knowledge of logbook and record keeping requirements
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Effective time management and communication skills
- Ability to solve problems independently
