Wieland is hiring a Packer. The Packer supports warehouse and production operations by preparing, packing, and organizing materials for shipment and production use. This position is responsible for ensuring materials are packed safely, accurately, and efficiently, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The position works in collaboration with the warehouse and operations teams to support daily production and shipping activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is located in Caguas, PR and will be fully onsite.
Starting Pay: $13.50/hr
Schedule: 6:30am-3:00pm
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Responsibilities
Packer Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Read and review shipping orders to determine packing requirements, quantities, and shipping methods.
- Pack materials in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and verify the accuracy of materials and documents.
- Load and unload materials using the appropriate equipment and following safety procedures.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to safely move and organize materials within the facility.
- Inspect materials and packed orders to ensure quality and accuracy before shipment.
- Immediately report damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, or nonconforming products to management.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of materials for production as needed.
- Use hand tools and packing equipment to prepare goods for safe transportation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and support operational needs across departments.
- Perform other assigned operational or warehouse duties.
Packer Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in warehouse, manufacturing, shipping, or packing preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts preferred, including sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow packing and shipping instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet production and shipping deadlines.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to support multiple operational areas as needed.
- Flexibility to work overtime or schedule adjustments based on business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements during the shift.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work under time pressure and meet production and shipping deadlines.
