Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Renal Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring strong cardiac/telemetry skills and prior travel experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is on the Cardiac Renal Unit in a hospital setting with 34 beds
- Patient population includes post-cardiac procedure, A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes, behavioral health/detox
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of 12-lead EKG required
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- First to float within skillset, with potential to float between nearby campuses with 2-hour notice
- Weekend requirement is three weekends in every six-week schedule, with every other holiday required
- EPIC EMR is used and recent experience is required
- Responsibilities include tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, heart cath recovery, PIV insertion, management of drips, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, detox/CIWA protocol, and central line care
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required
- Navy blue scrubs required without competing health system or agency logos
- Teaching hospital setting with possible precepting of students and new hires
- Termination may result after three call-ins
- COVID-19 vaccine is not required at this time
- Supportive leadership team with a focus on adaptability and resilience
- Not open to first-time travelers or local candidates
\n \n Requirements\n
- Active and current compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of two years strong cardiac/telemetry experience and at least one previous travel assignment required
- Trauma level II hospital experience required
- Recent experience with EPIC EMR required
- Ability to pass unit telemetry tests
- Must provide two supervisory references and copies of all certifications for consideration
- Must live outside a 40-mile radius from the facility
