We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Picker/Packer Lead to oversee our warehouse distribution operations. In this role, you will coordinate and supervise the picking and packing processes to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a comprehensive understanding of inventory management and logistics. This position plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity within our warehouse environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of pickers and packers to meet daily production goals while maintaining safety standards.
- Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation within the warehouse management system.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including preparing orders for dispatch and verifying incoming stock.
- Utilize forklift equipment safely for heavy lifting, materials handling, and stock movement as needed.
- Implement process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize warehouse operations.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies to foster a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to manage warehouse distribution schedules and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 or similar platforms.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions when discrepancies arise.
- Support team management efforts by training new staff, providing ongoing coaching, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), particularly AS400 or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous warehouse supervisor or team management experience.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices in warehouse environments.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control procedures.
- Ability to adapt quickly to process improvements within a fast-paced logistics setting.
- Knowledge of e-commerce fulfillment processes and third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Basic understanding of logistics principles, heavy lifting techniques, and materials handling equipment.
