Boilermaker

Job Summary:

As a Boilermaker at Great River Industries, you will be responsible for reading blueprints, assembling, installing, and repairing boilers, tanks, and vats. This role demands precision and a deep understanding of welding and construction techniques.

Responsibilities:


  • Read blueprints and understand job specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Fabricate parts, such as steel plates and tubes, and assemble them using various tools.
  • Inspect and repair boiler fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines.
  • Conduct tests to ensure the structural integrity and safety of all installations.
  • Work with a team to replace defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about the status of repairs and installations.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a technical school is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker or similar role in a related industry.
  • Proficiency in welding and torch cutting.
  • Strong understanding of engineering blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to handle physical workload and lift heavy objects.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
