Boilermaker
Job Summary:
As a Boilermaker at Great River Industries, you will be responsible for reading blueprints, assembling, installing, and repairing boilers, tanks, and vats. This role demands precision and a deep understanding of welding and construction techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints and understand job specifications to determine work requirements.
- Fabricate parts, such as steel plates and tubes, and assemble them using various tools.
- Inspect and repair boiler fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines.
- Conduct tests to ensure the structural integrity and safety of all installations.
- Work with a team to replace defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about the status of repairs and installations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a technical school is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Boilermaker or similar role in a related industry.
- Proficiency in welding and torch cutting.
- Strong understanding of engineering blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to handle physical workload and lift heavy objects.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
