Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and manage a national salesforce and distributor network in the medical device, capital equipment, and healthcare markets. The Sales Manager will drive revenue growth through strategic sales planning, account management, territory development, and distributor oversight. This role includes recruiting and managing independent sales representatives, coaching and training sales teams, and ensuring excellent customer experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage 1099 sales representatives and distributor networks
  • Develop and optimize territory structures to improve market coverage and customer experience
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and sales teams
  • Design and deliver sales training programs and materials to support distributor and sales team performance
  • Attend and coordinate trade shows, national conventions, and sales meetings
  • Manage CRM systems, track sales pipelines, forecast revenue, and ensure timely follow-up with customers
  • Oversee capital equipment pricing, quotes, and high-value negotiations in collaboration with contracting teams
  • Develop and implement national account strategies.
  • Coordinate with legal and contracting teams on agreements
  • Support annual sales and budget planning, including volume forecasting, sales goals, and marketing costs
  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to identify sales growth opportunities
  • Maintain digital presence through website content, LinkedIn, and other online sales channels
  • Provide technical expertise on capital equipment and accessories
  • Manage order confirmation, order flow, and reporting of open sales orders to production teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or sales management, preferably in medical devices, capital equipment, or healthcare sales
  • Proven experience managing distributors, independent sales representatives, and national accounts
  • Strong CRM experience, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage market intelligence for business growth

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience managing CRM systems, sales portals, and sales pipelines
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies, forecasting, and budget planning

Leadership & Management

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and coaching to sales personnel
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and maintain sales standards
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with marketing, operations, production, and leadership teams
