A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed Registered Nurse to provide essential health services across multiple K-12 schools in an itinerant role based in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This position involves supporting student health, managing medication administration, and triaging illness or injury across several school sites.
Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:20 AM to 2:20 PM
Duration: Contract for the current school year (ASAP through end of school year)
Age Range: K-12 students
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary health care provider within assigned schools, including two elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and support the Personalized Academy of Learning (PAL) Program.
- Deliver medical services such as medication administration and first aid, primarily based at the PAL program with daily visits to other sites.
- Perform routine health screenings and respond promptly to student illnesses or injuries with appropriate care and triage.
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers.
- Promote a safe and healthy school environment for students and staff.
Qualifications:
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential highly preferred.
- Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to multiple school environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
