Overview

Employment in this role is conditional upon successful execution of the contract by the client.

The Work:

The Research Analyst II will analyze and synthesize complex information, producing clear and persuasive materials for the Client leadership, and delivering high-quality research, writing, and briefings.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the MNL Fair Labor Team in tracking initiatives and policy developments related to free markets and fair labor. Raise awareness about these issues through engagement with other Department offices, embassies abroad, the interagency, civil society, and the Hill.
  • Advise on opportunities to expand the use of these policies and adopt/institute innovative practices.
  • Monitor political, economic, security and other developments when assigned geographic areas of responsibility, particularly with an eye on the impact on free markets and fair labor rights in the region and in particular countries of concern, including through classified and unclassified reporting channels, media sources, and NGOs.
  • Conduct outreach and liaison work with relevant geographic bureaus and client regional desks, the IO Bureau, the Office of the Legal Advisor, and others.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on international labor rights trends in assigned portfolio and geographic areas, including through classified and unclassified reporting channels, media sources, and NGOs.   • Assist in developing policy recommendations that support the integration of labor rights into
  • U.S. diplomatic and economic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with international organizations, civil society, and foreign governments to promote best practices and strengthen labor rights protections.
  • Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for senior Department leadership, interagency partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of foreign labor policies on U.S. interests, identifying opportunities to advance fair labor standards abroad.
  • Collaborate with international organizations, civil society, and foreign governments to promote best practices and strengthen labor rights protections.
  • Serve as an editor for the labor sections of annual human rights reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and comprehensive coverage of labor rights issues in assigned countries or regions
  • Other Duties as Assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:

  • Secret Clerance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Reports to: Program Manager

Working Conditions:

  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
