Kirtley & Stuckwisch Dental, a privately owned three doctor practice located in Seymour, Indiana, is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health practices, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure a comfortable, safe, and positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records using Dentrix software
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality
- Monitor and operate dental equipment safely while ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use
- Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with healthcare regulations
Requirements
- Valid Indiana licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist
- Experience is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply
- Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical records management
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
- Expertise in infection control practices including sterilization techniques and healthcare infection prevention standards
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards
- Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and patient care coordination
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
