ABR Staffing is recruiting a variety of positions for one of our partner companies in food production in Wausau, WI. This client is looking for machine operators, material handlers as well as general production assistants for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.

These roles are on 2nd or 3rd shift, with hours from 3 PM to 11 PM on 2nd shift and 10:55 PM - 7:00 PM for 3rd shift. Pay varies from $21 to $24 an hour depending on shift, role and experience.

Potential Job Functions: (will vary depending on position)

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• Set up and operate machinery, including film, zippers, labels, and cheese handling equipment.
• Inspect product machinery, conveyor belts, and emergency stops to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks, greasing, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare, weigh, load, and space product on production lines.
• Gather and apply labels, stickers, and backer boards.
• Assemble and pack boxes according to order specifications.
• Communicate with team members about safety, quality, and order requirements.
• Palletize finished products and complete production reports.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Ability to read and complete production reports.
• Strong communication skills with team members regarding quality and safety.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing, machine operation or packaging experience.
• Experience with Production planning software
• Basic computer skills.

Work Environment / Physical Needs:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently
• Average room temperature: 50–60&degree;F.
• Safety equipment such as hair nets, ear protection, hardhats, and safety glasses may be required.
