Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate cost management and financial transparency across our production facilities. Collaborating closely with plant managers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to process improvements, cost analysis, and operational efficiency to drive business success.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and maintain cost cards for all production facilities, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Collaborate with plant managers to validate cost inputs, including yields, labor, and overhead expenses.
• Prepare monthly reports analyzing plant performance, variances, and cost trends, offering actionable insights.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline cost accounting practices across facilities.
• Assist in establishing standard costs, inventory valuation, and conducting physical inventory activities.
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by providing detailed cost projections and assumptions at the plant level.• Proven experience in cost accounting, particularly within manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of standard cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in analyzing and managing cost data to support business decision-making.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with plant managers and cross-functional teams.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to accuracy.
