Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Collector to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient accounts, following up on unpaid medical claims, and ensuring accurate billing and collections in compliance with all regulations. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our practice while providing excellent service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:

Review and manage outstanding account balances

Contact insurance companies and patients to resolve unpaid or denied claims

Submit corrected claims and appeals as needed

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities

Respond to inquiries regarding billing and account status

Work collaboratively with the billing department and front office team

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all other applicable regulations
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred

Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical collections or medical billing

Strong knowledge of insurance processes and terminology

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office

Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain confidentiality
