Description
•\tPerform structural analysis on spacecraft, instruments, payloads, optics, mechanisms, and ground support equipment.
•\tUse closed form and finite element analysis techniques in stress analysis and structural dynamics.
•\tDevelop loads and environments for structure and components.
•\tSupport structural and environmental testing for static, modal, acoustic, shock, and vibration.
•\tWrite detailed reports for test and analysis activities.
•\tMaintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
•\tEstablish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
•\tPerform other duties as necessary.
Working Conditions:
•\tWork is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
•\tMay occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
•\tMay access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
•\tBS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 6 or more years related experience.
•\tEach higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education.
•\tRequired skills and proficiencies include Nastran experience with static, modal, buckling, and frequency response.
•\tProficiency preferred in the following areas:
o\tGeneral Software: Simcenter, FEMAP, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, MATLAB, Adams, Solidworks, Python
o\tFEM Applications: Explicit, Transient, Nonlinear, Multibody Dynamics, Line of Sight, and Jitter
•\tStructural Analysis: Bolted and Bonded Joints, Welds, Electronics, Antennas, Fracture and Fatigue
•\tMaterials: Composites, Ceramics, and other high temperature materials
The ability to support multiple efforts and manage competing priorities.
Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
•\tA Master of Science Degree in a structures related field is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $71.34 - $71.34/hr.
