Position Overview
Join us in the summer of 2025 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking detail-oriented and energetic Front Desk Interns who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Front Desk Intern, you'll play a major role in guest assistance and hospitality, while fully immersing yourself in the unique environment that only a summer camp can offer.
What You Get To Do
- Check guests in and out of units
- Building reservations from phone, online, and in-person inquiries
- Operate PMS: InnRoad
- Cashier functions
- Guest Services (including guidance around campus)
- Lost and found assistance
- Housekeeping chores to be completed in teams on an as needed basis
- Golf cart assistance to guest cabins
- Completion of maintenance and transportation work orders
- Switchboard operation
- Learning opportunities with Director of Lodging
- Other duties as requested

What You Need
- Availability 05/15/2025 - 08/15/2025
- Prepared to live in a residence hall with a roommate. While we offer accessible housing accommodations, please note that due to the rustic nature of our camp, these options are limited.
- Hospitality and Hotel Management majors are encouraged to apply.
- Previous related experience working in hospitality is desired but not required.
- Able to work in an outdoor environment for an extended period.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to learn quickly and under pressure
- A team player yet able to work independently
- Able to stand at front desk during shift
- Work in a fast paced environment and be able to multitask on a frequent basis
What to Expect about Camp Life
- Rustic Living: You'll be living in a residence hall, surrounded by the beauty of northern Michigan. Air conditioning is not provided; you may bring your own fan.
- Embrace the Outdoors: The camp is nestled in a wilderness area, so expect to encounter wildlife and insects as part of the experience. Embracing the natural environment is key to enjoying your time here.
- Outdoor Work Environment: Many of your duties will involve working outdoors, often for extended periods, so being comfortable in various weather conditions is important.
- Community and Camaraderie: You'll be part of a tight-knit community where collaboration, creativity, and support are at the forefront. The connections you make here will be lifelong.
