Responsibilities:

  • Oversee preparation of monthly and annual financial statements; ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Supervise and support accounting staff, including the Senior Accountant.
  • Support the annual audit and serve as a liaison with external auditors.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Coordinate organization-wide budgeting and forecasting in partnership with leadership.
  • Partner with program staff to prepare grant budgets, modifications, and carryover requests.
  • Monitor financial performance across funding streams and support funder-specific reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with GA’s external financial partner to ensure continuity and a smooth transition of responsibilities over time.
  • Maintain and improve systems and procedures in QuickBooks and SAMIS.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s a plus).
  • Experience managing finances for a nonprofit organization, preferably with government funding.
  • Familiarity with federal grants and OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
  • Skilled in preparing grant budgets and reports for government funders.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
  • South Florida nonprofit experience is a plus.

Perks:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employee-only plans.
  • Generous PTO and a 403(b) retirement match.
  • A collaborative, values-based culture.

Location:
