As a PRN Clinical Dietitian I, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to inpatients facing various medical challenges. Your expertise will help shape nutrition plans, educate patients, and collaborate with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

What You'll Do:

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Consult with physicians and allied health professionals to assess patients' nutritional needs and recommend tailored diet plans.
  • Conduct malnutrition assessments and nutrition-focused physical exams.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and departmental meetings, sharing valuable insights with your team.
  • Provide education to patients and their families on self-management of dietary needs.
  • Flexibly cross-cover pediatric and neonatal units as needed.
  • Engage in professional development activities, including literature reviews and presentations.
  • Maintain current credentials and licensure while contributing to evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care.

What We’re Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Education:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition Science from an accredited institution, along with completion of an accredited dietetic internship.
    • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university (if completed after January 1, 2024).
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of general clinical nutrition experience preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification within 90 days.
    • DC Department of Health - Board of Dietetics and Nutrition certification within 90 days.
  • Skills:
    • Current knowledge in clinical dietetics and proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
    • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
    • Flexibility in schedule and tasks, with comfort in public speaking.
