Global supplier seeks a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with international vendors. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Agent to support our procurement operations. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow within a dynamic environment, with significant exposure to international vendor communication—primarily across Canadian & European markets. The Purchasing Agent will play a key role in ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services in alignment with company needs
- Communicate regularly with international vendors (primarily Europe) regarding orders, pricing, and delivery timelines
- Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor information
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to invoices, shipments, and product quality
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and requirements
- Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and efficiencies
The ideal Purchasing Agent will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
Other requirements for the Purchasing Agent role include and are not limited to:
- 2+ years of experience purchasing and/or procurement experience
- Proficient in Excel
- SAP or similar ERP experience preferred
- International purchasing/procurement experience a plus
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
