Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school located in Hinesville, GA is seeking a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support the physical and developmental needs of students throughout the school year. This contract role offers the opportunity to work within an educational setting, collaborating with educators and therapists to enhance student participation and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students, including evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and adjust interventions that support educational goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in pliance with school policies and state regulations.
- Participate in meetings such as Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and contribute professional insights.
- Utilize therapeutic activities to develop fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills in children.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current licensure and certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Experience working in school-based settings or with pediatric populations preferred.
- Strong munication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with educational staff and families.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple caseloads during the school year.
- Knowledge of educational and therapeutic techniques appropriate for K-12 students.
